Painstakingly handcrafted by Aboriginal women on the island of Tasmania, this precious and beautiful Victorian necklace is one to be cherished.Complete with dozens of dainty shells from the shores of Tasmania, the play of colours on each of them is simply magnificent. From deep ocean blues to subtle emerald greens, this antique necklace is sure to make an impact!

Shells are 7mm long x 6.5mm wide.

MATERIALS: Rare Blue Tasmanian Shells, 9ct Gold bolt-ring.
STAMPS: '375' on later added bolt-ring.
HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made prior to 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.

EXCELLENT. This blue Maireener Tasmanian shell necklace is in excellent condition. The shells have remained in tremendously beautiful condition over the years, almost perfect! Necklaces like these do require care when handling, the shells are delicate so the necklace shouldn't be knocked or pulled! The metal clasp works well in ensuring she stays in place, so you can wear her with complete confidence.
