This is a delightful antique jewellery box, a very rare find! The box is a wonderful wine red colour, finished with a sweet Gold rim. Inside, the box contains beautiful purple velvet and cream satin.
First records of Tessier Jewellers date back to 1841, and the firm is very much still in existence. The box, which would most likely have housed a pair of earrings, is a collectible piece that can still be used today!

Box is 21mm in depth.
MATERIALS: Leather, Cream Satin, Purple Velvet.
HALLMARKS: "26.NEW BOND ST, EDWARD TESSIER, LONDON" printed on Satin inlay.
EXCELLENT. This antique jewellery box is in excellent condition! The box has stood the test of time, with no damage to note. The Leather has no scuff and the Gold border has maintained its lustre without much wear at all! The Velvet and Satin inlay are almost immaculate, and the box shuts tightly so you can rest assured that anything you do place inside will be kept safe!
