This Georgian 9ct Gold Garnet Pearl mourning pendant is an antique jewellery collector's dream! Featuring a delectable display of foiled flat-cut Garnets, oozing vampy reds and soft silky Pearls, bordering a panel of finely woven hair at the centre of this antique Gold.
Flat-cut Garnets were heavily used within regal jewellery pieces during the early 19th century due to their affordability and their ability to marry with any attire. They were quite often foiled to enhance their berry red hues allowing them to glisten beneath the candlelight.
We know this Gold Garnet Pearl pendant was crafted by jewellers J.J Peters & Co, based in the heart of Bristol, meaning she carries a lot of local history. Later engraved 'Dottie 3rd April 1881' this Georgian Garnet pendant carries a rich story ready for you to be a part of her next chapter!

MEASUREMENTS: Pendant is 23.5mm long, including jump-ring.
Pendant itself is 17mm long x 26.5mm wide.
Flat cut Garnets are 4mm in diameter.
Pearls are 1.5mm in diameter.
Weight: 5.1g
MATERIALS: Tests as 9ct Gold throughout, Flat-cut Garnets, Pearls.
HALLMARKS: Since we have dated this piece as being made prior to 1950, a hallmark is not required in order for it to be sold in line with UK hallmarking legislation.
PACKAGING: Your order will be gift-wrapped free of charge in a Lillicoco cardboard box made from recycled materials, tied with a ribbon.
Condition:
EXCELLENT. This Georgian 9ct Gold Garnet Pearl mourning pendant is in excellent condition. The gems are all secure and free from any chips or signs of wear! The Pearls are silky soft and luminous, framing a panel of neatly placed hair. There are some subtle signs of wear to the back from her brooch to pendant conversion, however, the inscription is undamaged. The Gold has a soft buttery hue adding bundles of splendour. A truly remarkable Georgian Gold pendant!
