This Georgian 18ct Gold Perpignan Garnet Riviere is one of the most stunning necklaces we have in our collection. Complete with French eagle hallmarks for 18ct Gold, and an impressive total carat weight of 65.40ct, this necklace would have been worn by the most discerning Parisian women at court balls and galas.
These fruity rose-cut Perpignan Garnets you cannot find in contemporary jewellery today as they are no longer mined. Not to mention, they exhibit beautiful purple and pink foiled centres, as typical of Georgian fashions. This necklace is 15" in length, so will poise itself over your collarbone and would be an alluring historic piece for date night.

EXCELLENT-VERY GOOD: This Georgian 18ct Gold Perpignan Garnet Riviere is in superb condition for its age. We could wax lyrical about these Garnets for hours, with the gems securely set in place and their vivacious foiled centres bright and beautiful. There are some light dings to the back of the settings which cannot be seen when the necklace is worn, and two of the Garnets have tiny flea bite marks. Considering that this necklace is of Georgian provenance, the fact that this is the only signs of wear is marvellous! This rare and sublime necklace should certainly be the centre of attention in your antique jewellery collection.
