This Art Deco Silver butterfly wing pendant is a vivid, highly-sought after piece from the roaring 20s. This pendant encapsulates the Art Deco era's fascination with bold, bright jewellery and "exotic" materials.
Boasting a neo-tropical Morpho blue butterfly wing, a species of butterfly native to Peru, this pendant will add a desirable pop of colour to any attire. The 1920s was a time renowned for exploration, so it is not surprising that this wing has likely travelled far and wide in its long life. This butterfly species was unable to be found in the UK, so you can just imagine the awe-inspiring gasp from those who viewed this pendant for the first time!

Condition:
VERY GOOD. This Art Deco Silver butterfly wing pendant is in very good condition throughout! Her butterfly wing has a beautiful shimmering blue hue throughout that cannot be missed. The black line running across the top of the pendant is part of the markings on her wing, not to be mistaken for a break in the wing. Her Sterling Silver has accrued a lovely patina throughout and securely holds the glass and wing in place. To the back of the pendant the number '48' has been scratched into the back, but this is very small and we only saw it under a jewellers loupe. Overall a sublime pendant that will last a lifetime!
