Splendour, Scarab and sentiment, the three 'S's that make this antique 9ct Gold Scarab beetle pendant so undeniably Victorian! Her Emerald green scarab shell shimmers beneath the light, encased in 9ct Gold twisted rope detailing.

The use of scarab beetles in jewellery originated from the Ancient Egyptians, being one of the most well-recognised symbols. They were closely connected with the sun god Khepri, who brought the sunrise over the horizon each day. Victorians were heavily intrigued and influenced by Ancient Egyptian jewellery, hence their evident love for scarab beetles themselves.

A Victorian pendant like this will bring an aspect of uniqueness to your antique jewellery collection, simply pair her with an antique Gold chain and revel in the rarity of this piece around your neck!

GOOD-VERY GOOD. This antique 9ct Gold Scarab beetle pendant is in good to very good condition. Her 9ct Gold has a beautiful glossiness, with only a very minimal marking behind her rope detailing. The scarab beetle is securely set within her bezel setting and boasts an enchanting display of colours. The top of the scarab beetle has been preserved perfectly, however on her underside the end of her exoskeleton on the underside, it has broken. It is a smooth break so does not detract from her overall beauty, and can't be seen when worn! With her 9ct Gold jump ring she can be worn with the utmost confidence!
