Antique 15ct Gold Halley's Comet Chalcedony Fob

This item is unavailable
SKU: 6511

This antique 15ct Gold Halley's comet Chalcedony fob is an exemplary collectible. Engraved within the white Chalcedony is a striking and crisp portrait of the English astronomer Edmond Halley.

Edmond Halley (1656-1742) was a historic scientific figure who discovered and accurately predicted Halley's comet, a short period comet visible from earth ever 75-76 years. This entire fob is crafted in homage to Halley, and you can clearly see a petite comet engraved into the Chalcedony too. The fob itself is an elegant and refined design, that is also akin to the Art Nouveau style.

VERY GOOD: This antique 15ct Gold Halle's comet Chalcedony fob is in fantastic condition throughout. As can be expected from a Victorian piece, there is some light dings to the fob's body, yet this is only minute evidences of wear and not noticeable when worn. The charming intaglio is still in perfect condition, with no chips, scratches or abrasions.
