Here we have an exquisite, unique statement piece of Georgian jewellery that is rare as it is gorgeous!
This antique 9ct Gold Georgian Garnet brooch just screams of decadence and luxury! It's made of solid Yellow Gold and the flat-topped Garnets have been expertly foiled, to enhance the natural splendour of those sumptuous sparkling Garnets.
The most unique part of this beautiful brooch is the woven hair centre-piece which is decadently surrounded with an embossed Gold border. This would have been worn for sentimental value, perhaps a mother safekeeping something of her child's who may have gone far away for a very long time? (Remember there were no photographs back in the Georgian times so hair was like a nostalgic reminder of their loved ones!)
This incredibly enchanting brooch would look mesmerising pinned to a coat lapel or a scarf. It also has a bale so if you so wished, you could add a Gold chain and turn it into the most beautiful necklace showcasing that charming antique flare!
