A generous oval Blue Topaz fills the face of this striking 9ct Gold solitaire. Broad facets reveal lighter and deeper blues as the ring moves, while four claws leave much of the gemstone's outline on show. The warm Gold provides a lovely contrast to that clear, cool colour.

An open gallery raises the stone above a slender plain band, keeping the focus on the 5.50ct centrepiece. London hallmarks date the ring to 1974, a lovely vintage choice for anyone who enjoys a large coloured gemstone in an uncomplicated setting.
