This 19" antique Silver engraved book chain is a truly splendid piece! Crafted entirely from Sterling Silver, she boasts fine foliage engravings on the front of each hexagonal link with Celtic knots flowing above and below.
Book chains were very popular during the Victorian era, and gained their name due to each link resembling the front cover of a book. Although they first emerged in the mid-19th century, they were also extremely popular throughout the Edwardian and Art Deco eras too.
This magnificent Victorian book chain comes with a large bolt ring, which traditionally would have been used to hang a locket from. You can follow this in true Victorian style, or attach your own pendant or charms for a touch of extra glam.
