These 18th Century Portuguese Rock Crystal "oil & vinegar" drop earrings are truly exquisite. Weighing over 20 grams, they possess incredible fire, displaying a range of hues ranging from honey and marmalade to papaya and cantaloupe!
Each Rock Crystal has a fabulously faceted form which allows the stones to glitter and gleam as they catch the sunlight. They dance around prettily as they hang comfortably from your lobes, and even boast a "day and night" design, meaning that the bottom clusters are detachable for a versatile look.
You will feel every bit as regal as a Georgian princess with these beauties adorning your ears! One of the most impressive pairs we have ever come across, they are statement jewels certainly worth investing in.

MATERIALS: Tested as Sterling Silver earrings with 18ct Gold hooks, Rock Crystal (foiled) - assessed by an independent gemologist, whilst within the original settings. Whilst it is possible that the earrings are Imperial Topaz (or partly), we cannot say 100% for certain since their foiled backs interrupt the gemological instruments we use.
STAMPS & HALLMARKS: Portuguese hallmarks on one of the earring bottoms. Although we are not experts in this field and the hallmarks are worn, our research suggests that they are legitimate and authentic.

VERY GOOD. This pair of 18th Century Portuguese Rock Crystal "oil & vinegar" drop earrings are in gorgeous condition. A fiery duo, the array of orange hues displayed by the foiled Rock Crystals are simply divine! All of the stones are securely set in their original, sturdy Silver settings, and although there is a variation in tones, this adds to their charm. The settings are smooth and the Silver has accrued a gorgeous patina over the years. There is the odd ding and dent to the settings, but this is commensurate with age. The bottom drops remove and reattach well, and the 18ct Gold hooks are firmly attached. Be careful not to get these lovely ladies wet, since the gemstones have closed-back settings. Despite some light wear overall, this pair are in incredible condition for their impressive age, we are in awe of them!
