This pretty antique enamel locket was made during the Art Nouveau period and has the most beautiful pale lilac coloured guilloche enamel.
Guilloche enamelling was a popular decorative technique used throughout the late 19th and early 20th centuries whereby delicate repetitive patterns were machine-engraved onto metal, and then later coated with colourful semi-transparent enamel. The technique allowed for greater precision and more elaborate designs to be used- creating gorgeous regal enamel jewellery; the likes of Faberge and Lalique that are adored the world over.
We love the sweet violet or mauve colouring of this locket! It's elegant, understated and oh, so pretty!
Keep your loved ones close to your heart with this unique and thoughtful antique gift.

ERA: Art Nouveau (1890-1910)
MEASUREMENTS: 38mm in diameter x 7mm deep
MATERIALS: Sterling Silver, Enamel
CONDITION: Very Good
An exceedingly romantic antique enamel locket in very good ready to wear condition. The locket opens and closes well, and stays closed when worn. Of course, the most important thing with guilloche enamel is that it's kept in good condition, and the enamel here is excellent! No chips, scuffs or damage, and the colour is just as alluring now as the day it was made. There is a small area on the back of the locket that's a little darker than the rest,(probably from a previous jeweller testing the metal) but this can't be seen when you wear it, so to all your admirers she looks just perfect!
