This lovely 9ct Gold Victorian belt ring is a classic example of the style of the era. The buckle motif and floral engraving really compliment each other in what we feel is a cohesive and attractive design.
The Gold has a lovely warm tone and on the whole this ring has a sense of gravitas and presence. It has a good weight to it and thanks to its size it doesn't seem 'lost' on a larger hand.
The belt buckle was a very important symbol in the Victorian era. It represents the binding love between the giver and the wearer, and also a love ever-lasting as the loop has no beginning and no end. It was often used on betrothal and wedding jewellery, as well as in mourning jewellery as a mark of respect, remembrance and enduring love.
