This rare Victorian Gold mourning locket pendant is a genuine antique and was made in the 1800's during the reign of Queen Victoria. It's crafted from 9ct Yellow Gold with beautiful hand engraving,and features absolutely pristine enamel work belt buckle in bold royal blue.
The belt buckle was a very important symbol in the Victorian era. It represents the binding love between the giver and the wearer, and also a love ever-lasting as the loop has no beginning and no end. It was often used on betrothal and wedding jewellery, as well as in mourning jewellery as a mark of respect, remembrance and enduring love.
It features the original glazed panel to the reverse, inside of which lies an intricately woven hair panel.

The pendant is fairly small and compact, and has a good weight and feeling of quality to it. It's rounded shape and slightly domed profile feel gorgeous and it's small enough for practical every day wear.

This pendant is in immaculate condition! From the front this piece looks practically brand new! The glass to the rear has some very minor surface scratches and no large scratches or chips, and the Gold is highly polished. The enamel is beautifully bright and completely intact which is extremely rare for an item of this age.
