This authentic antique Silver locket was made during the Victorian era and is fully hallmarked for the year 1889.
As you can see from the photographs it's a really pretty, decorative piece that's just full of charm!
It's one of the most unusual we've found to date, with a rare rectangular shape and pretty embossed detailing in the shape of a lucky horseshoe, surrounded by a beautiful bouquet of flowers.
The locket is a wonderful size for everyday wear and has a lovely feminine look. It would make an ideal good luck charm or gift to a blushing bride-to-be.
Looks great worn on a simple silver chain for day or evening.
Chain pictured is not included but can be added at the checkout.
ERA: Victorian (1837-1901)
MEASUREMENTS: Weight: 7.6g
The locket measures 25mm wide x 28mm long, not including the bale.
MATERIALS: Sterling Silver
HALLMARKS: Makers Mark "W.W", Birmingham anchor assay mark, Date letter "P" for 1889, Lion passant for Sterling Silver
CONDITION: Very Good
This locket is in wonderful condition for its age! The hinge is nice and tight and the locket snaps shut with a firm click. There are original frames in both sides which are both free from damage. The rear of the locket shows slight discolouration where the Silver has been polished down over the years, however this does not detract from the beauty of the piece, which itself is completely free from any scratches or damage!
