Edwardian 9ct Gold & Seed Pearl Memorial Brooch- Circa 1907

Edwardian 9ct Gold & Seed Pearl Memorial Brooch- Circa 1907

This beautiful 9ct Rose Gold memorial brooch is from the late Victorian to early Edwardian era and is truly a delight to behold!

The attention to detail is stunning; with 29 hand-set Seed Pearls, dainty mille-graine edged and a central glazed hair panel. The warm pink hue of the Rose Gold contrasts beautifully with the aged, silvery- lilac lustre of the Pearls.

As a memorial brooch it is engraved on the back, "Sept 24th 1907"- no doubt a message of love & remembrance.

The pin is strong and sturdy and the brooch is in good working order, ready to wear.

ERA:  Edwardian - 1907

MEASUREMENTS: Measures approximately 2.8cm wide x 1cm tall.
Weight: 3.2g

MATERIALS:  9ct Gold, the clasp is Sterling Silver and the pin is Stainless Steel or base metal.

HALLMARKS:  None Present

As with the majority of antiques this locket does show signs of age and wear commensurate with age. The glazed central panel has a crack in it and this is reflected in the item's price. Both pieces seem to stay secure in place, but if you wish this section can be replaced. All of the Pearls are original and intact. The majority have a thick nacre and lustre, with maybe 6 a thinner lustre with more chalky appearance. With this in mind they are all well-matched in terms of size, colour and lustre.
