EXCELLENT-VERY GOOD. This gorgeous 9ct Gold hand-painted portrait locket is a beautiful and large example of this type of antique locket, offered in excellent to very good condition. The locket itself is sturdy, with well-fitting glass "windows" and an elegant, solid and fully hallmarked 9ct Gold frame border. The screw-in bale works well and keeps the portrait inside safely. There are a couple of minor dings to this border and the bale, but these are very subtle. Please also note: avoid over-screwing the bale, as this will cause damage. Once you feel a bit of pressure when replacing the bale, stop turning immediately. This will safeguard the thread on the bale for many years, if not decades to come, so that future generation may also enjoy this lovely locket.
