Description

This heavy 9ct Gold antique signet ring is one of the most charming and unique we've ever come across here at Lillicoco! With 5 grams of solid 9ct Gold it has a substantial weight to it, wonderful tactile shapes and proportions, and is decorated with a stylish monogram of Gothic lettering.

As with the majority of antiques, you need only feel this ring on your hand to appreciate its superb quality and craftsmanship. The years have given the Gold a mellow, buttery finish and it feels absolutely gorgeous on!

If you look at the inside of the band you'll see the ring is quality hallmarked English Gold. It was made in the made in the town of Birmingham by renowned Tiptaft & Sons.

(Although we can't quite make out the date letter, we can confidently say from the style and the timeframe Tiptaft was Goldsmithing that the ring was crafted during the late Victorian to Edwardian era, circa 1890 to 1910.)

We adore the attention to detail in this antique signet ring. The elegant shield-shaped face is flat so it's easy to use as a seal (to seal letters!) The back of the band is wide and comfortable, and the shoulders are subtly curved to emphasise the monogram.

A fantastic choice a dress ring or an everyday ring. Easily sized up or down to fit perfectly.

CONDITION:  Excellent
This heavy 9ct Gold antique signet ring is in superb antique condition. It's just as sturdy and durable today as it was when it was made over 100 years ago! The ring has a good strong band and the beautiful over-sized hallmarks date it as an authentic antique. There is evidence of a previous re-size if you look closely but unless you're an expert or have extremely keen eyes you won't be able to notice it. The Gold still has a beautiful shine to it and the band hasn't thinned at all so it could easily be worn for another century or two!
