Description

It's hard to believe this beautiful antique Silver Paste flower brooch was made nearly two hundred year ago during the late Georgian era, (circa 1830)!

Made from the finest materials available at the time, it's crafted from quality Silver and set with 15 hand-made and hand-polished glimmering Paste gemstones.

Paste is a very special kind of flint glass that was firs created in Paris during the early 18th century. It was very fashionable at the time and sought after by all the high society ladies, and continues to be highly prized for its durability, beauty and it's rarity and of course as these items get snapped up into collectors cabinets.

The architectural flower-like shape is typical of the time, and we love how the single large Paste stands so high and proud!

It looks beautiful worn on a simple silver chain or ribbon around the neck, or would make a really fantastic conversion ring if you love your rings big and bold.

Of course it also looks great worn alone as it is, worn as a brooch, on a cardigan, scarf, or just below thee collar-bone with a crisp starched shirt.

This beautiful antique Silver Paste flower brooch is looking splendid for its age! It really is a stunner! All the Paste gems and the Silver is original Georgian antique, in great condition and the pin and c-clasp are still working perfectly. The Paste gems are not bright white like modern Diamonds but vary in colour from frosty white to subtle champagne tones- much like natural antique Diamonds, and have been cut with beautiful high tables too. They have an abundance of charm and sparkle, and the lovely dark patina that's developed on the Silver over many years compliments them well.
