VERY GOOD. A wonderful piece of antique jewellery in very good condition. This Georgian pink foiled Amethyst & Pearl stock pin is unusual in that it spans two jewellery eras. This doesn't indicate damage or wear necessarily, but it's important to point out that this conversion, or repurposing was done in antiquity. The bejewelled Amethyst section was likely made from a Georgian button (c.1800-1820) and a Victorian stock pin (c.1900).
The natural Amethyst together with the pink foil has kept the most scrumptious intensity of colour. The Pearls and gems are all intact, chip-free and set securely and the pin functions well. The back of the button has some discolouration and scratches in keeping with age and use, but for a brooch of this age it's in truly fabulous condition- good enough to eat!
