Halley's Comet, a scientific phenomenon that enchanted both the Georgians and Victorians alike, occurs every 75 years. Recorded by astronomers around the world since at 240 BC!  It wasn't until 1705 a British astronomer of the name Edmond Halley, understood that these appearances were reappearances of the same comet returning into view time and time again.

Circa 1820, this antique brooch is  full 200 years old, and is proof that when science and art collide, treasures like this are produced!
