This Georgian 9ct Gold Garnet Pearl mourning brooch is a remarkable piece of history. This brooch is inscribed with "David Chase, ob 12th Feb 1802, at 77" immediately dating this fine brooch to the beginning of the 19th century.

EXCELLENT: This Georgian 9ct Gold Garnet Pearl mourning brooch is in beautiful condition. It is always enchanting to find pieces that are over 200 years old, but pieces that are in such good condition is even more a rarity. The Garnet itself is perfect, free of chips and its wonderful foiled centre completely intact. The Pearl halo surrounding the Garnet is also free from major wear, with all the Pearls natural champagne nacre intact. The inscription on the back is free from chips and scratches too and is very easy to decipher.
