A very special Georgian 9ct Gold Amethyst Paste mourning brooch! This piece has been engraved with ' John Coventry, obt. August 21st, 1831, at 75 years' on its back, so must have been a prized piece of jewellery for a lady to commemorate the life of her partner.
The front of the brooch is adorned in lavender hued Amethyst Paste, which have each been foiled for extra sparkle. We are intrigued by the history of this piece, and wonder who exactly John Coventry was! Incorporate this piece into your collection so you can be part of something special.

VERY GOOD. This is a gorgeous Georgian 9ct Gold Amethyst Paste mourning brooch in very good condition! The brooch has kept immaculately well over the years, so has evidently been taken care of very well. Each Paste gemstone is securely set, smooth and sparkling beautifully. The back of the brooch has been engraved, having kept equally well over the years! Inside the locket, there is still the original hair inside, having remained beautifully woven.
