This exquisite Georgian Gold mourning ring is an absolutely perfect testimony to the wonderful skills and craftsmanship from the era, she is a very rare and special piece of jewellery!
As antique mourning rings go, this one has to be one of the best we have had the pleasure of coming across.
Masterfully cut Jet twinkles sultry, dark flashes which surrounds the superb blonde hair work at the rings centre. Both Jet and hair (especially blonde hair) were very popular in the mourning jewellery fashion, both very sought after materials indeed... so this ring is the perfect Georgian mourning ring collectors item as it ticks every necessary box!
On the underside of the ring is inscribed, "Agnes Bowes, Obt 18 Jan, 1810, Oct, 24". A beautiful sentiment to Agnes who's memory will live on forevermore in this absolutely stunning ring!
