One of our absolute favourite brooches in the collection, this gorgeous Victorian Silver Paste brooch features row upon row of gorgeous, Diamond-like gems in a dazzling 10 armed star!
Made in the 1800's, this piece exemplifies why we are so fascinated with antique jewellery today. It's chic, it's elegant, it's charming, and it has the indescribable charm of something you just know is precious.
This Victorian Paste star brooch is one of the finest we've ever seen here at Lillicoco. As you can see it has the most gorgeous proportions, and the quality and craftsmanship is second to none.
The Pastes have each been hand-cut and hand-finished individually, so when you peer at them long enough you'll realize they are all unique. We love the way they've been cut chunky, with high tables and steep edges to mimic beautiful old cut Diamonds too!
We love the fact that it bears the French Boar's head hallmark, as Paste (or "Strass") jewellery first came into popularity in Paris during the 1700 and 1800's.
The Silver setting is beautifully light and the Paste gemstones really catch your eye with a fierce sparkle, even in low-level lighting, making this brooch the perfect accessory to take you from day to night in style. Wear it on a jacket lapel or scarf and watch all eyes gravitate towards you!
The star is quite striking, with a slightly curved, three-dimensional shape. It's a fine brooch but would also convert well into a real "kapow!" ring or a stellar necklace.
This beautiful Victorian Silver Paste brooch would make a gorgeous and timeless gift for any occasion.
