This beautifully decorative antique Edwardian Silver fob medal is offered in superb condition. It has a pleasing scrolly design with fine hand-engraving, and the highly polished 9ct Rose Gold centre perfect for adding a personalized initial or a special date.
It' a good heavy-weight fob medal that feels lovely when worn and comes complete with a 18" or 45cm solid Silver prince of Wales chain as pictured.
The fob was originally given as a medal for sporting achievement, as we can see with the engraving to the back:
"I. &. D.F.C SECOND 1911-1912".
The Lion Passant indicates Sterling Silver and the Anchor shows the item was assayed in English town of Birmingham. An italic Date Letter "m" tells us the item was made in the year 1911.
The beautiful fleur-de-lys emblem gives this fob a certain regal charm which would be a great gift for any vintage or antique enthusiast.
