This rare piece of history is a genuine antique from the Victorian Era which spanned from 1837 to 1901.
One side features intricately machine engraving which catches the light just beautifully, whilst the other features a sweet cross-hatched design in bright blue enamel. The slightly domed surface reflects the light and draws the eye, making it a dainty but never-the-less full of impact. It is a lovely wearable size.
A selection of 9ct Gold chains can be added at the checkout if required.
ERA: Victorian - (1837-1901)
MEASUREMENTS: 19mm x 23mm
MATERIALS: 9ct Gold, Enamel
HALLMARKS: None as is common with many antiques from this period, but tests as 9ct Yellow Gold back and front
The locket is in good antique condition. It opens and closes shut tight, and features two very charming original black and white photographs. The side featuring the gent also has the original glazed panel which is quite rare for an item of this age. It's clear a lot of love & care went into the making this locket - even the inner frame has been hand-etched! Some of the blue enamel has worn due to age, but we think this is actually quite pretty.
