In 1724, French jeweller Georges Frédéric Strass invented “Paste,” a leaded glass that was the painstakingly cut & polished with metal powder until it appeared to shimmer like a diamond in the light. It was an instant hit with the tres chic Parisian high society.

Circa 1905, this beautiful French Paste brooch is a genuine antique & oh so beautiful!

The 14 Paste gemstones are set in solid Silver and are all original, bright and sparkly with even tone and fire. Old mine cut like antique European Diamonds- they are the perfect gift for those who crave a touch of glamour! 

The brooch pin is strong & in perfect ready to wear condition. 

Measures approximately 30mm diameter.

Marked "Sterling Silver".

Weight 4.7g

Condition: There are no chips, missing or replaced stones and only minor abrasions to some of the facet edges under x10 magnification but these are not visible with the naked eye. A fantastic quality piece! Great on a coat or lapel pin!
