This fantastic Edwardian Gold locket would have been made and engraved by hand, circa 1901.
As with the majority of lockets from this time frame the locket was crafted from 9ct Gold both back and front, with a stronger metal forming the innermost section and hinge for added durability and strength. Indeed, this is why so many antique Victorian and Edwardian survive to this day in such incredible condition!
The entire surface is covered in the most immaculate etchings of swirly acanthus leaves and pretty flowers, and the initials "LHS" give us a clue as to its previous life. I wonder who he or she was?...
A wonderful piece of history that deserves to be worn and cherished.
A selection of 9ct Gold chains can be added at the checkout if required.
