A superb piece of rare Austro-Hungarian jewellery, this antique Turquoise pendant is utterly beautiful!
Made during the brief reign of the Austro-Hungarian empire; Austro-Hungarian jewellery features the most incredible elegance and craftsmanship, and for these reasons is coveted by jewellery lovers the world over.
This pretty drop pendant was made by hand from fine Silver and hand-polished natural Turquoise cabochons. The gold has mellowed with age but is still visible for those who know to look, and it gives the duck-egg blue of the Turquoise subtle "pop"!
Turquoise was a popular choice around the late 1800's and continues to be a great choice for Summer wardrobes. It's elegant, stylish and fun, and remarkably modern-looking for such an ancient jewel!

MEASUREMENTS: 54mm long (inc. bale) x 31mm at widest x 5mm at deepest.
The central Turquoise measures 5mm in diameter x 2mm deep.
The smaller Turquoise cabochons all vary in size, graduating from 2mm in diameter up to 5mm x 3mm.
MATERIALS: Silver, Turquoise
HALLMARKS: Unidentified marks, (believed to be Austro-Hungarian maker's marks?) Tested as at least 800 Silver.
EXCELLENT: This rare Austro-Hungarian Turquoise pendant is in excellent condition. All of the Turquoise gems are present, beautifully smooth and securely set. It appears that once upon a time pendant would have had a gilt finish which has all but gone, but these remnants are part of the unique charm and appeal of a piece like this. All parts, including the pretty rope-like bale are original and there are no missing or damaged gems.
