This stunning antique Victorian brooch has been crafted in 9ct Yellow Gold and features a stunning Rose cut oval cabochon Garnet, and 43 additional rose cut Garnets.
Made during the Victorian Era between 1837 and 1901, it's a piece very typical of the times in terms of style and composite materials.
A beautiful way to adorn a coat or jacket lapel, or fasten a silk scarf... or for the more daring it can be worn in a more modern way as a choker, necklace, or at the neck of a crisp white shirt.
All in all, a rare and unique item that would make a perfect gift for the discerning antique jewellery lover!
ERA: Victorian (1837-1901)
MEASUREMENTS: 20mm wide by 16mm tall, with the principal Garnet measuring 12mm wide by 8mm tall
MATERIALS: Garnet, 9ct Yellow Gold (tested)
HALLMARKS: None present
CONDITION: Very Good
This rare brooch is in very good antique condition overall with some small areas of wear commensurate with age. The brooch is in good working order with a strong and sturdy pin back. The pin and almost all of the gemstones appear to be original with the exception of two small rose Garnets. I suspect these to be replacements. There are slight abrasions to the principal Garnet, although hardly noticeable to the naked eye.
