It's hard to believe this beautiful antique Silver Paste flower brooch was made over a hundred year ago, during the early Victorian period.
Made from the finest materials available at the time, it's crafted from Sterling Silver and set with 20 hand-made and hand-polished glimmering Paste gemstones.
Paste is a very special kind of flint glass that was firs created in Paris during the 18th century. It was very fashionable at the time and sought after by all the high society ladies, and continues to be highly prized for its durability, beauty, and of course as these items get snapped up into collectors cabinets, its rarity too.
This brooch is quite an architectural piece, constructed of 3 tiers of Paste petals, and ss such it's quite impactful! It sits some 15mm above the pin so it really stand out!
It looks beautiful worn on a simple silver chain or ribbon around the neck, and would make an amazing "Kapow" ring conversion if you love your rings big and bold.
Of course it also looks fabulous as it is, worn as a brooch, on a jacket, scarf, or in the nape of the neck with a crisp white shirt.
