This antique Opal Diamond ring was made during the Victorian era and is fully hallmarked for the year 1876. It's of English origin, and we can see from its fantastic condition it was made to last.
The ring is crafted from 18ct Yellow Gold, with a single square cabochon Opal centre and a good-sized old cut Diamond each side. These are not like the Diamonds we see today but rather really characterful, wonky old-mine cuts or table cuts that have a distinct twinkle that we antique jewellery collectors love!
The Opal is vibrant and lively with a strong play of colour, and we see mainly sparkly vivid bright greens and an undertone of sparkly orange beneath.
A highly collectable and versatile piece; this ring is perfect for stacking!

EXCELLENT: This beautiful antique opal and Diamond rind is in excellent condition ready to wear and enjoy. There is no damage to the gems and the Gold still has a lovely polish to it. The hallmarks date the ring as Victorian ad are nice and clear, so it's a great choice for any antique jewellery collector.
The choice of Opal is quite unusual here and may or may not be a replacement stone. That being said it does appear to have been in situ for quite some time so we can't say for sure, but the opal is really beautiful with a fantastic lively colour play!
