An absolutely beautiful oval-shaped locket of French origin made from solid Silver. As you can see the embossing or "repousse" work is very fine, with a lovely natural aged patina. Circa 1900. This piece was likely used as a trinket or pill box, or possibly even a ladies powder or snuff box which were popular during the 18th & 19th centuries.
As you can see the inside is beautifully gilded with real Gold! Not only does this look stunning but also protected whatever you put inside it from reacting with the Silver.
It's a gorgeous piece in excellent antique condition. A wonderfully detailed bouquet of flowers decorates both front and back, and the sides and borders feature leaves and stars.
The locket is a good wearable size and is in excellent condition.
Chain not included (but one can be added at the checkout if required).

MEASUREMENTS: 36mm x 28mm, 1cm deep.
