This antique French Gold "FIX" religious medal pendant is a beautiful piece of French jewellery from the late 19th to early 20th century. A beautifully carved relief of the praying Virgin Mary with "Je Suis L'immaculée Conception" is at the centre (translating to "I Am The Immaculate Conception"), crowned by foliate mistletoe openwork details.
This medallion is not only a very pretty piece, but she is full of meaning, making her a wonderful find for religious jewellery collectors. She is crafted from French Gold FIX, a specialist antique style of rolled Gold.

Gold FIX jewellery was made by specialist French jeweller c.1900. FIX is essentially rolled gold, in which a “sandwich” consisting of a plate of copper between two thin plates of gold is compressed between rollers to the required thickness and then stamped into the form of the piece!
