An extremely pretty antique Edwardian dress ring hand-crafted from fine 18ct Yellow Gold and 5 natural, earth-mined Diamonds. The style is typically Edwardian with lace-like holes above and below the Diamonds, and almost heart-shaped scrolled shoulders. Circa 1918.
The warm, rich yellow of the Gold contrasts beautifully with the glint of the Diamonds for a pretty yet refined look. A genuine quality antique- over 100 years old!
This ring is in lovely ready to wear condition.
As with most antiques the ring shows some signs of wear commensurate with age. All the Diamonds are secure in their settings and the Gold shows some light scuffs throughout. Please note these scuffs are highly magnified when using the zoom facility, and are not very noticeable at all when worn! Will make a gorgeous gift for any occasion.
Fully hallmarked with wonderful large, antique "stamped" hallmarks. "18" and The Crown signify 18ct Gold, and the Shield denotes the English own of Chester as the place of Assay. Date Letter "S" signifies the ring was Assayed in the yer 1908, but from the style was likely made earlier.
The back of the band measures approximately 2mm; both elegant & comfortable to wear. The front of the ring measures 6mm at it's widest point.
The Diamond-set section in the centre measures 11mm wide from side to side, with each Diamond measuring 1-2mm in diameter.
