This wonderful antique Carnelian signet ring is made from rare 8ct (or "333") Gold, and set with a single square or octagonal slab of glossy deep orange Carnelian.
This unusual and collectible carat of Gold was used in Germany, Austria and Switzerland during the early twentieth century, circa 1910 to 1920, and this is where it would have been crafted all those years ago.
The ring is very much in the gentleman's style of the age, and has been popular throughout history. Its simple design and subtle attention to detail is elegant and refined.
The Carnelian is bezel-set with a smooth rim of Gold around the gem; protecting it from any knocks or scrapes, and the tiny rope detail adds a hint of texture to draw the eye. It's in fantastic condition throughout, and the tapered band ensures the ring is comfortable to wear for any occasion.
It has a comfortable 2mm Gold band and will make an eye-catching dress ring for any occasion.
