A truly delectable antique Bohemian Garnet star brooch!
This lovely little antique brooch is bursting full of juicy red rose cut garnets and has the most wonderful 8-pointed star design.
Made in the 1800's, these "star"-style brooches were extremely popular gifts- often given to symbolise love or friendship, and would have been seen on all kinds of characters from humble origins like this, up to the the Diamond star brooches of the bourgeoisie, and starry tiaras of Victorian royalty.
Although this brooch is gilded "washed" with Gold, (rather than solid Gold) it's an incredibly fine example. All the Garnets are original, antique and absolutely immaculate, with the most glorious, vibrant, and glossy blood-red colour.
The perfect accessory for those with a Gothic or romantic style!
Wear it proudly on a cardigan or coat lapel, or thread on a simple velvet choker for a little more edge.
