Hallmarked to the cusp of the Edwardian era, this antique 9ct Gold padlock charm is as adorable as can be! The perfect find for all occasions, you can be connected to its Edwardian heritage everyday.
This padlock charm is the perfect dainty size. Small enough for subtle wear, you can slip a fine chain through its bale, clip her onto a charm bracelet, or attach her to a string of Pearls (our personal favourite!). The back of the charm is inscribed with Jan 10th 1901 - we wonder what momentous occasion occurred on this date!
ERA: Edwardian, c.1901.
MEASUREMENTS: Padlock 18mm long x 12mm wide.
MATERIALS: Solid 9ct Gold.
HALLMARKS: "9",".375", Birmingham Assay, date letter obscured. Inscribed "Jan 10th 1901" on the padlock back, "9.375" inside padlock top.
EXCELLENT: This antique 9ct Gold padlock charm is in sublime condition throughout. The 9ct Gold has gracefully aged to possess a feminine blush finish, but its highly reflective shine is still wholly intact. Both the hallmarks and "Jan 10th" inscription are equally crisp, so we can confidently place this piece at the very beginning of the 20th century. There are no dings to the Gold and the hinge clasp works perfectly. This lovely pendant is just waiting for its wonderful new caretaker!
