This fabulous Victorian buckle ring is an absolute delight! It has a great weight to it and at a 6mm in width it has a wonderful presence on the hand.
We love the charming floral and foliate design engraved all the way around the band, and of course the traditional belt motif which is seen so often in jewellery of this era.
This would make an excellent ring for both gents and ladies! It's thick enough not to look lost on a mans finger but it certainly has an air of elegance too.
In Georgian & Victorian times the belt buckle motif signifies loyalty, strength and virtue- hence it's longstanding use as wedding bands and promise rings over the centuries.

MATERIALS: 18ct Yellow Gold
HALLMARKS: Makers Mark (obscured), Crown, "18", Birmingham Anchor Assay Mark (obscured), Date Letter "M"- 1886
CONDITION: Very Good
This ring is free from any damage and the gold is warm and shiny. There are no scratches or dents to the metal. The design on the exterior of the band is very slightly worn all over, which is of course very common for an 18ct gold ring that's coming up to 150 years old! Nonetheless there is still an excellent level of detail still visible and the band isn't showing signs of thinning, so you can wear this daily with confidence.
