This antique 18ct Gold Ruby Diamond 'Gypsy' ring will add a splash of luxurious sophistication to any wearer! Akin to a constellation of stars, she is inlaid with dainty and glistening Diamonds, nestled between three magenta-hued Rubies. She is sure to satisfy your penchant for celestial jewels.
Gypsy rings originate from the Victorian era, their distinctive design developed when wealthy women would travel and be fearful of their jewels being stolen. They felt gemstones set in raised claw settings were easier to steal, so gemstones were as a result set flush within the Gold to make them less of a target.
Although not used for this purpose today, they still make for divine rings that are incredibly popular to this day due to their splendorous design. Complete with ornate scrollwork, this Gold 'gypsy' ring is packed with personality, you will never tire of her undeniable charm!

EXCELLENT. This antique 18ct Gold Ruby Diamond 'Gypsy' ring is in excellent condition throughout! Each of her Rubies and Diamonds are securely set within their star settings, complimenting each other perfectly. Both Rubies and Diamonds are hard stones, meaning when wanting to clean her she can be cleaned with soapy water and a soft toothbrush. The ornate scrollwork is crisp on either side and symmetrical. The 18ct Gold is buttery throughout and her ring band has remained round. She has a full set of hallmarks dating her to 1908, including the highly sought-after Chester assay mark. We just know you will adore her as much as we do!
