This 9ct Yellow Gold Etruscan revival Victorian Diamond trefoil ring is a beautiful little piece, nearly over 150 years old!
The opulent golden and twisted rope border around the edge of the ring really evokes the Etruscan revival period, and we can see why the Victorians loved it so much! The darling trefoil of Diamonds looks like a pretty sparkling leaf shape.
This way the Diamonds are set is called a "gypsy" setting, and is one you'll see a lot in Victorian jewellery. It's easy-on-the-eye but in fact very difficult to master- and this one is a lovely example, probably once a stick-pin that was converted (some time ago) into this charming and versatile ring.
This ring has such a lovely feel to it. When worn it's so light and delicate that you almost forget it's on your finger, but then you look down and the Diamonds give you a dazzling little wink, and you're reminded of its delicate charm and beauty!
