Who runs the world? Girls! This 18ct Gold Amethyst Diamond Peridot Suffragette Drop Pendant is a piece of history, and was made for the women who won the vote! For centuries jewellery has been used not only as decoration, but as a signifier. Royalty had crowns, Masons had secret symbols, Families used crests and intaglios, and the Suffragettes used coded colours.

Along with Diamonds, this sweet drop pendant features Peridots, Pearl and Amethysts, representing green, white and violet. The first letter of the colours translates as an acrostic for Give Women Votes! While society was adjusting to the suggestion of women having autonomy, joining the suffrage effort was seen as a masculine trait, and so to counteract this stereotype, the suffragettes leaned into the overtly feminine styles of the Edwardian era, so much so that their signature colours became fashionable – as it did to identify as a suffragette!

Capturing a pivotal moment in history, this pretty pendant also represents a multitude of design methods from the era. The bale and rippling ribbon feature 15 hand carved rose cut Diamonds, and the Peridot and Pearl floral emblem is cased in millegrain settings.
