This Edwardian Gold oval glass locket is such a gorgeous piece of the past to have within your antique jewellery collection! Created at the start of the First World War, we can imagine this piece to be a romantic parting gift between two lovers.
We love the delicate blush hue that the 9ct Gold has gracefully aged to accrue, complementing with the translucent tones of the glass. This kind of locket allows for a picture of a loved one to be magnified and placed inside, or you can add dried flowers, strands of hair or any other little fancies!
ERA: Post-Edwardian, c.1914.
MEASUREMENTS: Locket 31mm long x 24.5mm wide.
Length of locket including bale and jump ring 42mm.
MATERIALS: 9ct Rose Gold, Glass.
HALLMARKS: Maker's Mark obscured, "9", ".375", Birmingham Assay, date letter "q" for 1914.
VERY GOOD: This Edwardian Gold oval Glass locket is in great condition throughout. The hue of the Gold is charming, and the hallmarks are crisp and easy to decipher. A note to the wearer, the glass frames don't fit as snug as they originally were so this piece can only really be delicately worn on special occasions. Yet, this does not detract from it's attractive nature!
